The District held a formal Public Rate Hearing presided over by Public Hearing Officer, Peter Gould, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in the EAWSD Public Conference Room located at 2 N. Chamisa Drive. UTILITY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Management of the complex infrastructure for the District requires a plan for routine utility maintenance. EAWSD developed a District Asset Management Plan in 2016, which describes the District’s maintenance programs. Some elements of the District’s current preventative maintenance program include:
Wells

Depending on available funds, one or two well casings are cleaned each year.

Well master meters are calibrated annually.

Well motor control cabinets are inspected and examined by infrared for poor joints, weak fuses, bad insulation, etc.
Booster Pumps

Booster pumps are lubricated twice a year.
Pressure Reducing Stations

Pressure reducing stations are rebuilt every 4 years.
Disinfecting Equipment

Disinfection agent feeding equipment is rebuilt twice a year.
Tanks
-
Tanks are inspected annually.
