ELDORADO AREA WATER & SANITATION DISTRICT
2 North Chamisa Drive, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87508-9483
Annual Summer Watering Restrictions Ended 8/31/24
Even though Annual Summer Watering Restrictions ended 8/31/24, EAWSD customers are asked to continue their normal water conservation activities, with special attention to reducing usage on weekends, which are the highest usage periods. If you have an outdoor irrigation system, it is important to monitor the timing of your watering and be hyper-conscious of any maintenance/repair issues, to avoid unnecessary leaks. When traveling out of town, do not leave your irrigation system/timer unsupervised.
UTILITY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Management of the complex infrastructure for the District requires a plan for routine utility maintenance. EAWSD developed a District Asset Management Plan in 2016, which describes the District’s maintenance programs. Some elements of the District’s current preventative maintenance program include:
Wells
-
Depending on available funds, one or two well casings are cleaned each year.
-
Well master meters are calibrated annually.
-
Well motor control cabinets are inspected and examined by infrared for poor joints, weak fuses, bad insulation, etc.
Booster Pumps
-
Booster pumps are lubricated twice a year.
Pressure Reducing Stations
-
Pressure reducing stations are rebuilt every 4 years.
Disinfecting Equipment
-
Disinfection agent feeding equipment is rebuilt twice a year.
Tanks
-
Tanks are inspected annually.
